My visit to Toronto, Canada was bang on the buck! I wasn’t expecting it to be so full of excitement and enjoyment though. My research had warned me against the idea of Toronto for a vacation, as it is a quiet place as compared to numerous other Canadian cities. However I was pleasantly surprised! I feel Toronto, as a city, would provide for a lovely home. People are warm, city is super safe and the vibe is just so comfortable. It is full of things to do and see and the multicultural food available is lip smacking delicious.

Best time to go to Toronto

The winters here are a little harsh! The city, it seems, goes into hibernation during the winter months. The best time to go to Toronto would be spring and fall. The summer months are usually full of tourists and the city becomes slightly crowded. During April-May and August- October, the city is alive with pleasant weather and numerous outdoor activities. If you are looking for cheap tickets to Toronto from London then winter will be your best bet.

Best Time to Book tickets to Toronto

Another great way to book in budget is to book at least 5-6 months in advance. Pre planning your trip always helps in scoring better deals and offers online. Subscribing to newsletters from online travel portals will also help you grab the best offers as they are launched. I booked my tickets roughly 6 months in advance and my return fare was close to $330 with one stop.

Airlines and Airports connecting UK to Toronto

Toronto Pearson International airport is the main airport for all flights to Toronto or rather the whole of Ontario. It is 14 miles northwest of the downtown of the city. All major airlines connect UK to Toronto namely Air Canada, Air Transat, British Airways, American Airlines, Finnair and Sabena. There may be more airlines if you go for a connecting flight. Tickets to Toronto from London however still remain dependent on the time of booking. Book a comfortable selection of seats as the flight is an average of 8 hours 15 minutes from London to Toronto. Many options of Economy, Business, Premium Economy and First class are available as per budget.

My trip to Toronto was full of interesting things to do. Here are some fun ways to see Toronto while not missing out on the spontaneous things you would also like to try.

Niagara Falls

The first on the list and the best on it too! This splendid sight is a full-blown experience in itself. Not very far from the city of Toronto, many tours and travel companies offer exclusive packages for a day’s trip here. Just the view will leave you stunned beyond words. Take your DSLR and you get ready for a roll of the best pictures taken in your life.

CN Tower

This is a landmark in architecture and an integral part of the Toronto skyline. You need to visit the top for the sheer brilliance of how it is made and witness the live action at one of the tallest freestanding structures in the world. The best time to see this in peace without the thronging queues would be early in the morning 9-11 am or after 5pm. There is minimal crowd and the experience is just beyond words.

Royal Ontario Museum

I am an art lover and for me this was paradise on Earth. The presence of rare pieces of art, iconic architectural style and stunning sculptures are just an understatement for this museum. It is one of the biggest art museums in North America. The highlight of this museum is the dinosaur specimens that are on display right from the Jurassic to the Cretaceous timelines.

Kensington Market

Your shopping and dining needs will be more than taken care of here! Plethora of boutiques, cafes and small colorful shops make this a fun day outing. I picked up most of my gifting options from here and my folks loved it back at home. Also there is a splash of color and multicultural vibe running through every nook and corner, which makes for a great experience.

If you love food, this area is your haunt! Located near the Downtown area of Toronto, there is an amazing selection of shops, bars and restaurants here for you to choose. So many cuisines and so many options to choose from, I gained a few extra pounds thanks to the cocktails and the gourmet style food.

Toronto Harbour Tour

This one is again a memorable experience in the city. The skyline is just exquisite and the boat tour with a guide is just what you need to take the day off and just soak in the vibe of Toronto. You can book this online according to your time schedule and enjoy the occasional stops they take on the island. If you want to get to the island, there are complimentary ferry rides from downtown, which provides a pick up and drop facility without any charges too.
